KUALA LUMPUR: Up-and-coming squash player Whitney Isabelle Wilson hopes to make a memorable debut in the SEA Cup in Johor Baru, which begins on Tuesday.
The Sarawak-born Whitney is feeling confident ahead of the SEA Cup after winning the girls' CIMB Foundation National Junior Grand Final Under-19 crown at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil today.
The 14-year-old, a student of Bukit Jalil Sports School student, defeated second seed Arnie Goh of Kedah 11-4, 11-6, 11-6 in the final.
"I am only 14, and today I won my second CIMB Junior crown. I also won the second leg in Johor in August.
"And my focus now is the SEA Cup. As the second seed, I will try my best to win the tournament.
"We also have a good chance of winning a medal in the mixed team SEA Cup event.
