Frustrated Tenaga make Thunderbolts their victims

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional took out their frustration on sister-team TNB Thunderbolts, hammering them 9-0 in the Malaysian Hockey League at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil today.

Tenaga had lost the Charity Shield 4-3 to Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) on Thursday and are now chasing for goals as well as maximum points in the hope that THT fumble one of their matches,

Faiz Helmi Jali started the rout in the 13th minute and it was completed by Norizzat Sumantri in the 49th.

Muhibuddin Moharan snatched a hat-trick in the 18th, 23rd and 44th.

TNB Thunderbolts are the early whipping boys as they have let in 19 goals in two matches. They were hammered 10-0 by Maybank in the curtain raiser on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the inaugural Hockey 5s Carnival saw a total of 128 Boys and Girls teams competing at Pitch I of the National Stadium. The tournament is for the Under-11 and Under-15.

In 2018, Malaysia grabbed attention at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires by emerging surprise winners of the Hockey 5s competition by beating India 4-2 in the final.

Men: TNB Thunderbolts 0 Tenaga Nasional 9, Maybank 7 Forces 0, Terengganu HT 7 NurInsafi Sporting 1.
