Johan Ghazali beaten by the 'Panda Kick'

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's muay thai prodigy, Johan Ghazali Zulfikar, fell short on his bid to break Colombian Johan Estupinan's unbeaten record.

The 18-year-old, known as Jojo, lost on unanimous decision after three intense rounds in the flyweight division in the ONE 170 fight on Friday at the Impact Arena in Bangkok.

Johan fought valiantly in pursuit of his seventh win in the ONE Championship.

The opening round unfolded cautiously, with both fighters adopting measured strategies.

Johan managed to deliver a clean punch to Estupinan's face, briefly knocking him down.

However, the Colombian, known as the "Panda Kick," turned the momentum in the second round with a more aggressive approach, landing a decisive punch that sent Johan to the canvas.

The third and final round saw both fighters trading punches, but Estupinan was much more clinical with his strikes and managed to cut Johan's eyebrow. And he was named the winner after the final bell.

With this win, Estupinan extended his unbeaten record in the ONE Championship to 5-0, including three knockouts.

Johan suffered his second loss in eight professional fights. His earlier defeat came at the hands of Vietnam's Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat in June last year.
