SINCE the onset of the pandemic, McDonald's Malaysia has carried out various initiatives to support the Ministry of Health in tackling the Covid-19 situation.
It is also part of the company's efforts to spread positivity to the public during these difficult times, and it underlines their commitment to feed and foster communities as a responsible corporate citizen.
McDonald's latest initiative includes giving away 10,000 free meals vouchers to frontliners that have been treating COVID-19 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Critical Care Unit (CCU) since mid-September 2021.
With these vouchers, frontliners can "have a meal on McDonald's" which includes one Nasi Lemak McD, one piece Ayam Goreng McD and Iced Lemon Tea. They will be able to redeem this meal with any purchase at McDonald's until December 31, 2021.
This giveaway is meant as a token of appreciation to all frontliners to thank them for their service as they work tirelessly in taking care of their patients.
Managing Director and Local Operating Partner of McDonald's Malaysia Azmir Jaafar states that they are committed to be there for the Malaysian community during these tough times, as it is a purpose that is close to their hearts.
"We want to bring this message of strength and resilience to all, as we strive to return to normalcy and recover from the pandemic.
"Our meal sponsorships and vouchers giveaway help to bring cheer, and convey McDonald's appreciation towards the important work by the Ministry of Health," he said.
VOUCHERS FOR VACCINATED INDIVIDUALS
Additionally, McDonald's has been offering three million Americanos since mid-September to those who have been vaccinated.
These vouchers have been distributed to those who have received their vaccination shots at 75 selected vaccination centres, and they may be used to claim a free Americano with any purchase at McDonald's until December 31.
Aside from providing freebies to vaccinated individuals, the company has also been providing weekly meal sponsorships for hospitals and PPVs.
They have donated more than one million meals to various frontliners to date, as well as RM250,000 worth of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) last year.
"We truly applaud and are proud of our medical frontliners who risk their lives every day, who care for patients and keep Malaysians safe. We want to show our gratitude and take care of them in return," Azmir Jaafar added.
As part of their Komuniti @ McDonald's RMHC programme goals, McDonald's will continue to do their part to assist the Ministry of Health through its various initiatives, and to ensure Malaysians and frontliners are being looked after and cared for during this critical time.
