A WOMAN bit off one testicle of a man she claimed was attempting to rape her at her home in Miguel Alves, northern Brazil, on Sept 5.
Identified only as Bruna, the woman said she was in her bedroom, with another man, when the alleged rapist burst in and began assaulting her.
According to the Daily Mail, the alleged attacker, identified only as Pedro, is Bruna's pimp, ex-boyfriend as well as next-door neighbour.
In the attack, Bruna said Pedro entered her bedroom naked, and pushed her onto her bed with such force that it broke.
Pedro then began pulling Bruno's hair - it is believed in an attempt to force her to perform oral sex – as the other man tried to pull him away.
As she was faced with his genitals, Bruna's response was to bite it – twice. She said that in the heat of the moment, she didn't realise she had bitten off one of his testicles.
The Daily Mail reported that Pedro was rushed to hospital with his severed testicle, but doctors were unable to reattach it.
The sensational incident has made headlines in Brazil.
Bruna, who has since been interviewed by various media organisations, revealed that she was raped twice as a child, and refused to become a victim for a third time.
However, Pedro, when interviewed by the news channel G1, said the attack was "unprovoked" and that "he did not deserve what happened to him."
Police are investigating the case and a decision is pending on whether one or both of them will be charged.
