AirAsia Bhd has been named Malaysia’s Best Company for Investor Relations (IR) at the Malaysia Investor Relations Association (MIRA) Awards 2017.

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Bhd has been named Malaysia’s Best Company for Investor Relations (IR) at the Malaysia Investor Relations Association (MIRA) Awards 2017.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Aireen Omar received the award on behalf of the airline from Bursa Malaysia Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan at a ceremony on Tuesday.

The budget airline also won the Best IR Website Award, which was presented to Group Head of Corporate Development, Elina Effendi, who previously headed the airline’s IR team.

“We have always been transparent with our investors and we will continue to engage positively with them in the future.

“Winning the Best IR website is also significant to us as it is in line with our vision to be a truly digital airline,” Aireen said in a statement here, today.

AirAsia would also continue to strive towards building value and maximising returns to its shareholders, she added.

AirAsia and its long-haul affiliate, AirAsia X, also won two individual awards, namely Best Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for IR which was awarded to AirAsia CFO, How Kim Lian, and the Best IR Professional (Mid Cap) garnered by AirAsia X IR Manager, Hanif Idrose Mohamed.
