SHAH ALAM, Selangor: Some 25,000 visitors are expected to gather at the 10-day Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2018 next month, the biggest state event ever organised.
The SIBS 2018 acts is a platform that connects local and foreign multinational corporations, small medium enterprises and entrepreneurs operating in the food and beverage industry to showcase their products and services.
In a media briefing held here today, Selangor state government executive councillor Datuk Teng Chang Khim said, "we expect 25,000 visitors at SIBS 2018, compared with 22,071 visitors last year."
He explained the SIBS 2018, which will be held at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (Mitec) in Kuala Lumpur, is a series of three tradeshows, namely the Selangor International Expo 2018, Selangor Asean Business Conference 2018 and Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention 2018.
Invest Selangor Bhd and Menteri Besar Selangor Inc are the co-organisers of these tradeshows, which will run from 6th to 16th September 2018.
Official partners are Malaysia Airlines Bhd, Renaissance Hotel, MASkargo, Northport and R.E. Rogers.
Throughout these tradeshows, the Barista Guild Asia will host the 2018 Latte Art Competition while the Tea Trade Association of Malaysia will organise Battle of Teh Tarik 2018.
The Professional Culinaire Association will also hold a live demonstration called the Gastronomic Experience.
Almost 30 trade bodies have pledge their support for these series of business development initiatives.
