KUALA LUMPUR: Ranhill Holdings Bhd’s net profit for the third quarter (Q3) ended Sept 30, 2019 increased to RM17.63 million from RM16.48 million in the same period last year.

Revenue also rose to RM409 million from RM402 million, mainly contributed by the environment segment due to consumption volume growth, Ranhill said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

Moving forward, Ranhill targets to own and operate gross 1,000 megawatt (MW) power plants from current 380 MW that deliver clean energy and 3,000 million litre per day (MLD) of water and wastewater treatment capacity (currently 2456 MLD), of which 400 MLD is to be from the international segment by 2022.

Growth in the local environment segment is expected to be supported by the increasing demand for water in Johor, especially with the development of new housing and industrial areas, it said.
