In a statement, the company said customers can choose either to have their new Mate Xs delivered to them or they can order it online and then collect it at the Huawei store nearest to them.
Huawei also ensures that the dispatchers will have masks on at all times during delivery to ensure the safety and health of the customers, and call the customer ahead of arriving at the delivery location and will sanitise the parcel in front of the customer before handing it over.
Besides that, Huawei is also providing a one-time screen replacement within three months from the date of purchase of the new Mate Xs. This covers accidental damage caused by drop, fall and other collisions.
It does not, however, cover damage resulting from unauthorised disassembly or repair, misuse and abuse of the device, improper installation or modification of the device, or damage caused by spillage of food or liquid, corrosion, rust or the use of wrong voltage.
The three months warranty comes on top of other perks that come with purchase, including a pair of Huawei’s Freebuds 3 worth RM679 and an Envelope Leather Case for Mate Xs worth RM299.
Among the features that the Mate Xs bring is the Multi-Window technology.
It allows users to reply emails, while reading a separate document or while making using the calculator – all at once, in a single big screen. The feature also allows users to drag and drop files and photos between apps without having to leave any of them.
Additionally, apps that support the App Multiplier feature can show two instances of the same app simultaneously, allowing users to make full use of the big screen. Users can also pin apps on the Dock screen of the phone, which will allow you to quickly select and switch apps using the Multi Window feature.
The Huawei Mate Xs is the world’s first and only foldable mobile phone to use the tougher, sturdier version of its Falcon Wing Hinge technology. Using zirconium-based liquid metal which greatly improves its strength, the hinge is able to contract and extend itself with fluidity, seamlessly transforming your device from a 6-inch smartphone into a totally flat 8-inch tablet.
When unfolded, the device shows off its near-borderless view with a screen that comes with a protective outer later made of double aerospace-grade optical polyimide, which is a unique material which costs more than gold.
Connectivity wise, the Mate XS supports both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G networking modes and comes with 5G + 4G dual-SIM-card standby technology – which means that wherever in the world there’s 5G, users will have it too.
Under the hood of the Mate Xs is the Kirin 990-5G chipset with 7nm +EUV technology and this is fuelled by a 4500Ah battery that supports Huawei’s TÜV Rheinland certified 55w superfast charging tech. What this means is that users can plug in your phone, leave it to charge for half an hour while have their coffee.
The device uses the flying fish-inspired cooling technology made up of a malleable graphite material, which folds perfectly with the device and distributes heat evenly across it.
The Huawei Mate XS is the first foldable smartphone in the world to come with an integrated front-rear camera with real-time framing support using the Smart Mirror shooting mode.
Its SuperSensing Quad Camera comes with a 40MP main camera, 16MP ultra-wide angle camera, 8MP telephoto camera and 3D Depth Sensing Camera. It also supports AIS and OIS super image stabilisation, 30x hybrid zoom capabilities, and is able to meet a maximum ISO of 204,800.
Users can now download their favourite apps, such as WeChat, TikTok, Lazada, JOOX, Dahmakan, Touch’nGo and many more, via the Huawei App Gallery, which is being continually updated to bring Malaysians all the top apps they love.
The App Gallery is ready and completely safe to use, equipped with a cool new feature called QuickApp which allows you to use apps without installing them into your phone, therefore helping you save on phone storage space! Also, don't forget to claim your 50GB Huawei Cloud for free!
