KUALA LUMPUR: It's official! International singer-songwriter Yuna Zarai is officially off the market.
The Alor Star-born and Los Angeles-based artiste was engaged to her beau, Adam Sinclair, in a private solemnisation ceremony at her home in Shah Alam, Selangor today.
The event was attended only by family members and close friends.
"Praise be to God, it was a beautiful engagement. I am very happy that everything went smoothly, and we had all our family members and best friends attending the event," said Yuna, 31, after the ceremony.
The happy couple met five years ago while working on the set of a commercial for which Adam was the director. Since then, they kept in touch, and their relationship blossomed into a serious romance a couple of years ago.
"This is the first step to getting married and I'm so happy that I found Adam. He has a wonderful heart, he's very responsible and respectful of my parents. He is my best friend and has brought so much joy and laughter into my life. I'm excited to embark on this new journey with him," Yuna said.
Last March, the Crush singer posted a heartfelt message thanking Adam for his contribution to her Lovelifest Music Festival at Setia City Park in Shah Alam.
She ended the posting with: "I love you just the way you are. Who knew five years ago when we met we would be here now? I know I'm not an easy person to be with, but you're brave enough to embrace what I am".
Adam, an award-winning director, hails from a famous family – he is the younger brother of Jakarta-based actor, Ashraf Sinclair and radio personality and hostess, Aishah Sinclair.
