KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning band Salammusik will release an official music video for its new song, titled Malam Terlerai, this Saturday, in conjunction with Malaysia Day.
In a press statement, the rock, reggae and hip hop band revealed that the brand new track revolves around feelings of joy and happiness on the eve of Independence Day, as the people wait in anticipation for days of freedom ahead.
The song, the band said, illustrates the good and the hard times that Malaysians might face in the future, however, it is also their goal to invite listeners to rise up to tomorrow’s challenges.
In order to push forth this concept, Salammusik has collaborated with creative agency, MotioFixo. The two have worked together before on music videos for Aku Pelat, Your Place and Terima Kasih.
Malam Terlerai’s music video will showcase an artistic collage of the Malaysian journey towards 60 years of independence and unity.
The upcoming release is also in conjunction with the Yakin “Have Faith Malaysia” campaign, a youth movement championing for a positive future in Malaysia.
On a different note, Salammusik has just returned from their fourth tour in Europe, where they performed at major music festivals in the Netherlands, such as Zwarte Cross, which attracted about 165,000 revellers, as well as the Manifestival and Over het IJ Festival.
Vlogs of the tour can be viewed on Salammusik’s official YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5fHogjL_r8gmm3e9AFgScQ).
