KUALA LUMPUR: TV3’s newest singing reality show will meet viewers on Sunday, featuring big names such as Misha Omar, Siti Sarah, Tam Spider, dan Zarul Husin as mentors.

After auditioning more than 1,000 hopefuls in January and last month at Royale Chulan Damansara, each mentor has now found his or her protégés.

To be hosted by Hot FM announcer Haziq Hussni and singer-actress Elly Mazlein, Mentor Otai is set to premiere this Sunday.

Spanning seven episodes, it will be aired live from Sri Pentas 2, Plaza Alam Sentral, Shah Alam at 9pm.

The programme will also feature Mark Adam dan Edry Abdul Halim as permanent judges.

All protégés will be performing on the Mentor Otai stage every week.

Marks are determined by the judges (50 per cent), a public jury comprising musicians and lecturers (20 per cent) and viewers’ short messaging service votes (30 per cent).

The top three winners will get RM100,000, RM50,000 and RM20,000.

For those unable to catch the weekly live show, you can catch the repeats every Friday at 9.30am beginning March 23 or go to tonton (www.tonton.com.my).

There will also be exciting behind-the-scene snippets of the mentors and their protégés in Jurnal Mentor which airs every Sunday at 6pm beginning this weekend.
