KUALA LUMPUR: For Hong Kong veteran actor and producer Simon Yam, the injuries he sustained from a stabbing incident last July did not stop him from carrying on with his life as usual, especially when it comes to exercise routines.

The 64-year-old star was reported as looking the least bothered about his injuries when he was in Singapore to be the judge for MediaCorp’s Star Search 2019 programme held on Nov 3.

The Straits Times reported that he still had bandages over his fingers.

"I can exercise now, but I still can't lift dumbbells or heavy weights," Yam was quoted in the report.

In the interview he had with the Press in the Lion City, he also thanked his fans for their concerns about his well-being and admitted that he was now more cautious and alert when out of the house.

In July, Yam was slashed on the right hand and stabbed in the abdomen during a store opening event and hospitalised for five days.

After the experience, Yam is more appreciative of the time he has with his family now.

He is married to supermodel Qi Qi and the couple has a 14-year-old daughter named Ella.
