KUALA LUMPUR: Popular songstress Jaclyn Victor may have gone to "splitsville" recently, but she is a lot happier now.
The 41-year-old mother of two said that she had become "calmer and cheerier" following her divorce from American R&B star Shawn Rivera of the group Az Yet.
“I'm very happy with my children, and that's what matters most to me. To those who expressed concern, don't worry I'm OK!" said Jaclyn in a news report yesterday.
"It's over, and since he (Shawn) hasn't said anything, I ain't saying anything. What has happened has happened.”
Jaclyn who rose to fame winning Malaysian Idol in 2004 said was thankful that her children Jonah Joshiah, 5, and Molly Marguerite, 3, were loved by both sides of their family, and that her family did not stop Rivera from visiting them.
“Shawn will always be their father, and he will always be welcome to visit the children. And on my part, I've got my brothers and cousins to look after them, too."
Jaclyn, whose best known songs include Gemilang and Wajah, however insisted that Rivera would have to visit the children in Malaysia, because she would not bring them to the United States.
Last month, Rivera, 48, announced on Facebook that his marriage to Jaclyn had ended after five years, and it was a difficult decision for both of them.
Rivera and Jaclyn were married in Philadelphia, the United States on July 19, 2014.
