As houseboats cut through the backwaters, tourists crane their neck to take in the scene’s such as swaying coconut trees, paddy fields, quiant villages and settlements as well as well as life which is far removed from the daily rat race.

The backwaters located in South West India however is also the home for hundreds of thousands if not millions of Keralites as they go about their daily life, including fisherman, housewife, students, labourers and office workers who call the backwaters home.
