KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress and singer Nur Fazura Sharifuddin’s official music video of her debut single Sayangi Dirimu is quickly making quite an impact.
Composed by Damien VE with lyrics by Shah Shamshiri, Sayangi Dirimu’s official music video was released on YouTube last weekend. It has since received more than 42,000 views.
The 31-year-old beauty, best known for her roles in the romcom Pisau Cukur, horror comedy Kami Histeria and hit TV series Gol & Gincu, is pleasantly surprised by the number of views for the music video.
“Really? I didn’t expect that many views. Alhamdulillah for all the support. I hope everyone loves the song. I’ve been getting words of encouragement from those who have heard the song or have seen the video music whether in person or via the social media. I feel blessed.
“This only strengthens my courage to better my singing and put out more tunes soon. Who knows, a ballad perhaps?” said this stylish celebrity, adding that the video music was filmed over two days in the city centre.
With another feather in her cap, Fazura hopes to balance both her creative endeavours on an even keel.
“When I first started out in showbiz, my dream was to become a singer. But somehow, acting took over instead,” she told the New Straits Times.
The idea to come out with this single was mooted by some friends of hers, she said.
“It was last year. I was hanging out with some friends including Shah. It was he who encouraged me to just give it a try at singing. At first I was a tad bit hesitant, but when more and more friends and fans rallied behind this idea, I gave in.
“For me, I did Sayangi Dirimu for fun actually. I figured if the opportunity to sing arises, I should just take it. At the same time, it’s a great way to gauge my fans’ reaction of me as a singer,” said the first Malaysian celebrity to star in a TV series on the international entertainment channel E! called Facing Up To Fazura.
In the pipeline is a duet with the champion of the first season of the reality TV series Singaporean Idol Taufik Batisah.
“We have agreed to collaborate, but details are still being finalised. All I can say for now is that the duet will be a fast number,” revealed the bubbly actress.
Fazura, who has 1.1 million followers on her Instagram account said, she is excited on the prospect of a duet with him. “I love his vocals and I think our collaboration will strike a chord with both our fans from Malaysia and Singapore,” she said.
While busy with her craft in acting and singing, Fazura has a lot of goodies lined up from now till the rest of the year especially in the fashion business.
“I am busy focusing on my fashion line right now. It’s a lot of hardwork but I can’t wait to debut it soon. I wish I could share more but I don’t want to jinx it,” said the busy businesswoman who also runs her own boutique, House of Doll, in Bangsar.
Fazura who is never keen to talk about her personal life especially on who she dates, however, agreed to share her thoughts on her ideal partner.
Having been romantically linked to popular actor Shaheizy Sam before, there have been rumours linking her to several others too.
“For the record, I am not seeing anyone at the moment. I am very much single. I am just getting to know people as and when the opportunity arises,” she said.
Fazura however divulge the key criteria in choosing her ideal partner.
“He has to be open minded, driven, intelligent and one who comes from a good family. Is that too much to ask? I don’t think so!,” she said cheekily.
The talented actress who has just wrapped up filming Osman Ali’s romantic drama Langit Cinta with Keith Foo and Farid Kamil slated for release later this year, said: “I’m so busy expanding my business. Sometimes I don’t even have time to think about men.
“I think if anyone comes and ask for my hand in marriage, I might just agree to it,” she jokingly said.
