IPOH: Floods in the state have kept leaders busy as they visit victims at various relief centres to see to their welfare.

Leading the way was Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir who visited the centre at Perak Tengah on Christmas Day.

Accompanying him were state finance officer Datuk Gazali Jalal, state executive councillors Datuk Rusnah Kassim and Datuk Muhammad Nizar Zakaria and Kampung Gajah assemblyman Ahmad Fauzi Abdullah. He started his visit from Sayong, Kuala Kangsar, and then proceeded with his team through Jalan Bekor-Senggang.

He stopped at Kampung Mandah where 13 homes had submerged due to the flood. He also spoke to several villagers who sought shelter by the roadside near their homes.

At SK Tanjung Blanja, Zambry and Parit member of parliament Datuk Mohd Zaim Abu Hasan were given
a briefing on the flood situation by Perak Tengah district officer Mad Dan Hassan. Zambry also visited victims at SMK Muzaffar Shah, Lambor Kanan and Dewan Serbaguna.

His visit ended at SK Dato’ Sagor where more than 700 villagers had been housed. By Sylvia Looi
