PUTRAJAYA: Rural and Regional Department Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob reiterated that all kindergartens under Community Development Department or Tabika Kemas will be closed if the schools in that area had been ordered to be closed by the Education Ministry.

He said the decision to close kindergartens had been made earlier, however many people are still not fully aware of it.

He urged the kindergarten operators to be focused with the Education Ministry’s announcement.

“When the Education Ministry announce the school closure, all kindergarten in that particular area will also be automatically closed,” he said in a statement, today.

He said that previously, all kindergartens in Johor, Pahang and Malacca were closed due to haze which was in line with the Education Ministry’s decision.

On the Mara Junior Science Colleges (MRSM), Ismail Sabri said the students were encouraged to study in the air-conditioned rooms such as library, seminar room and hall.

Since MRSM is a fully residential school, he said it would not be practical to allow the students to go home.

“The learning session will be carried out informally such as in the air-conditioned library,” he said.
