KUALA LUMPUR: Despite not being nominated for any category in this year’s Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 29 (ABPBH 29), popular television host Fara Fauzana is not at all perturbed by it.

“It’s time for the younger ones to take centerstage,” said the bubbly 36-year-old when met at TV3’s Showcase Muzik Muzik 31 at Hard Rock Cafe in Jalan Sultan Ismail here yesterday.

Fara or FaFau as she is more popularly known among her fans, said she had already taken on a new role of grooming up-and-coming talents, especially in the arena of TV hosting.

That was the reason she left Hot FM, the radio station she had served for a decade.

Fara, who is also into giving motivational talks, has won ABPBH’s Most Popular Female Radio Personality and Most Popular Female TV Host trophies every year since 2007 and 2005 respectively.

“I’ve been in the limelight for far too long. At the end of the day, it is about giving others the opportunity to shine, just like when people had given me the chance to do the same in the past,” she said, adding that, after all ABPBH centres on one’s popularity.

When asked who she hopes this year’s title of Most Popular Radio Personality go to, Fara said: “It’s a toss between Fizie of Hot FM and Abby Fana from Sinar FM.”

Muzik Muzik 31 is a programme that provides a platform for music composers, lyricists and artistes, who form the backbone of the local music industry, to showcase their talents. The programme is hosted by Fara, together with Juzzthin, Zooey and Fizie. Actress Janna Nick will also be hosting the programme, beginning next month.

Aired every Sunday at 10pm on TV3, Muzik Muzik 31 introduces a new concept where the Top 5 songs get to be featured in a special programme Showcase Muzik Muzik 31. Performances by the artistes will be recorded at Hard Rock Cafe, and will be aired on the last Sunday of every month at 10pm on TV3, beginning this Sunday.
