KUALA LUMPUR: Police are resuming their investigation on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the special investigation team led by him had called in several witnesses.
"We have called in several witnesses and many more will be summoned in days to come as the investigation progresses," Khalid said, after officiating a blood donation event at the police training centre (Pulapol) today.
Khalid, however, declined to divulge the name of the witnesses and how many had been summoned.
The investigation is carried under Sections 409 and 402 of the Penal Code for criminal breach of trust and cheating.
Last Monday, Khalid revealed that police will summon 1MDB's former chief executive officer Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim, after reviewing the Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) 106-page report on 1MDB.
Prior to this, police suspended the investigation on 1MDB to give way to the PAC investigation.
