KUALA LUMPUR: Former Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is forwarding an application to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to form a new political party with former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad soon.
Announcing this via a Facebook posting today, Muhyiddin also shared photos of him meeting Dr Mahathir and the latter's son former Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir at the former premier’s residence.
Also in the photos were former Langkawi Wanita Umno member Anina Saadudin, youth activist Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, Gabungan Ketua Cawangan Malaysia president Kamarul Azman Habibur Rahman and Akhramsyah Muammar Ubaidah Sanusi.
“I will submit an application to register this new party to the RoS soon.
“Let us all pray that this application will be approved. InsyaAllah (God-willing), we will do the best for the people and the country,” he said today.
Dr Mahathir had on July 14 announced that he would be partnering with DAP, PKR, and Parti Amanah Negara to form a new coalition that will operate as a single entity against Barisan Nasional.
