KUALA LUMPUR: The movie Ola Bola took home three trophies at the opening night of the 28th edition of the Malaysian Film Festival (FFM28) held at Finas' Sound Stage Studio last night.

The movie won Best Costume, Best Original Music Score, and Best Original Soundtrack.

A total of 10 awards were given out including Best Art Direction, Best Documentary Film, and Best Short Film.

Film director Yusry Abdul Halim, who was not in attendance, won Best Special Visual Effects for the movie Cicakman 3.

The song Arena Cahaya by Zee Avi and Rendra Zawawi for Ola Bola, won Best Original Soundtrack.

Film crew 76-year-old Mohd Noor Tagaya was awarded the Behind-the-Scene award for his lifelong commitment to the local entertainment industry.

The event, hosted by Sharifah Shahora and Wan Syarul, was attended by the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) chairman Datuk Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib and director-general Datuk Kamil Othman.

Also present was Datuk Fauzi Ayob, the deputy director-general for production and communication, who is also FFM28 chairman.

Performances for the evening were by Datuk Hattan, Elyana, Adira and Hazama.
