KUALA KANGSAR: An ambulance caught fire at a traffic light junction near Taman Bunga Raya, here last night.

It is leant that the ambulance was on its way back from Ipoh, when a fire suddenly broke out during the 8.50pm incident.

A Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the department was alerted to the incident at 8.59pm. Seven firemen were rushed to the scene.

“We managed to control the fire about three minutes later. The two hospital staff inside the ambulance escaped unhurt.

“There were no patients in the ambulance,” said the spokesman, adding that the cause of the fire is being investigated.
