KLANG: The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) seized RM350,000 worth of mobile phones, believed to be counterfeit, during a raid in Bandar Botanic this afternoon.
The ministry’s Putrajaya enforcement division director Roslan Mahayudin said, armed with a warrant, the officers raided the premises, which is believed to have supplied mobile phones and other electronic gadgets to the international market.
Roslan said the phones seized comprised the iPhone 4, iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 series, on top of two tablets.
The case is being investigated under Section 8 (2) of the Trade Descriptions Act 2011 under prohibition of false trade description in relation to trademark.
The operation was carried out by five enforcement officers.
