Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem passed away at 1.30pm today.

KOTA KINABALU: Opposition leaders in Sabah expressed their condolences over the passing of Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem, paying tribute to him for the path he charted for eastern states.

Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) deputy president Darell Leiking said," I wish to extend my deepest condolence to the family of Adenan.

“We had a different political ideology; he was the only Barisan Nasional Chief Minister who showed us in Borneo that we can be a force to be reckoned with when the people of Borneo, especially its frontline leaders, use its rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963," said Darell, who is Penampang Member of Parliament.

Likas assemblyman Junz Wong, who is Warisan vice-president, described Adenan’s passing as sad news.

"I wish to express my deepest condolences to his family members and all Sarawakians for their great loss.

"In Sabah, we must build our own legacy to honour what this man has started for the Borneo states," said Wong.
