PETRA JAYA: Astana Negeri today denied issuing any statement over the appointment of the acting Sarawak Chief Minister.
In a statement today, the state palace said it had never instructed any of its officers to release a statement of such nature, which had been spreading on social media.
"The statement on social media was made by irresponsible quarters using the good name of the palace.
"The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak's office is an entity which will not interfere in the administration of the state government and the politics of the state," read the statement.
The official statement by Astana Negeri today came about following the death of
Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem, who passed away due to heart complications at the Kota Samarahan Heart Centre this afternoon.
