GEORGE TOWN: Police seized four semi-automatic pistols, 151 live bullets and three handcuffs during a raid at a house in Taman Idaman, Simpang Ampat here early yesterday.

In addition, the raiding party seized 573.9gm of heroin and 26.7gm of ketamine worth RM11,500.

Police also arrested three people at the house – a man, his wife and his adopted sister, all aged between 33 and 59.

Bukit Aman Narcotic Crime Investigation Department Director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said police raided the premises at 3am based on a tip of possible drug-pushing activities by a man in his 30s.

“We searched the double-storey house and found the drugs.

“A more comprehensive search led police to the recovery of (the firearms and ammunition),” Mohmad told a press conference here today.

He said the pistols were a Baretta, a Colt MFG, a Compact Cz 75D and a Cz 2075.

“It (would be) premature for us to reveal details of our investigation, as we are in the early stages.

“We have the three suspects in custody until Tuesday and will interrogate them further,” he added.

The main suspect – the man - has a criminal record comprising drug-related offences and theft, among others.

He said police also seized a car and motorcycle worth RM34,700.

The case is being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act, the Firearms Act and the Penal Code, respectively.

At the same event, Mohmad also presented certificates of appreciation to the eight officers and personnel involved in the successful raid.
