PORT DICKSON: The magistrate’s court here has extended a remand order against a husband and a wife by seven days starting today, to assist in police investigations into the death of Nur Aina Nabihah Muhammad Abdullah, 9, who was believed to have been abused.

Magistrate Siti Khariah Abdul Razak granted the remand extension application against the couple, who are also the father and stepmother of the victim following an application made by investigation assistant officer, Inspector Muhammad Firdaus Abd Razak, after their remand ended today.

On Thursday, a girl died while on her way to Tuanku Jaafar Seremban Hospital (HTJS) after she was found unconscious by her father at their family's house in Lukut.

A medical examination found that the victim had died of abuse, with a post-mortem examination determining that she had injuries to her kidneys, broken bones and other internal injuries.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
