KOTA BARU: Police have identified three suspects in the attempted carjacking of a Toyota Hilux at Kampung Tiong here, last week.
In the 6.55am incident, the suspects fired gunshots at the pickup truck – which was carrying a businessman and his son-in-law – and attempted to seize the vehicle in front of their house.
It is learnt that the three men, who are aged between 20 and 30, are locals.
"Based on our investigation, we have identified all the suspects involved.
"We believe (they) are still in the state and an arrest will be made at any time," Kelantan police chief Datuk Hasanuddin Hassan said.
He was speaking after presenting Tabung Amanah Perwira dan Pertahanan Negara (TAPPN) cheques to four widows during a ceremony at the Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) here today. The event also saw 11 officers receiving letters of appreciation for their exceptional service.
In the incident last week, Abdul Karim Daud, 56, and his son-in-law Sakirin Ahmad, 34, had just returned home from performing Subuh prayer at the Kampung Kubang Kacang Mosque when they were attacked by the three men.
