PETALING JAYA: A single mother of one was found dead with her body wrapped in a thick blanket at Rampai Idaman apartment unit in Prima Damansara here.
The victim has been identified as Nor Hidayah Ahmad, 30, and the body was found by the victim’s father at 5.30pm today when he went there to visit her at her rental unit.
Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said the father suspected something was amiss when he smelt a rotting smell as he entered the unit.
It is learnt that the victim, who worked in a factory, lived in the apartment with her six-year-old son. He was at his kindergarten at the time of the incident.
“We believe that the victim has been dead within 24 hours. The body was wrapped in a thick blanket and put under a pile of pillows and a mattress.
“The police are now looking for the victim’s ex-husband, who hails from Johol, Negri Sembilan, to facilitate investigation,” he said when met today.
It is also learnt that the victim had been divorced since about three months ago.
Mohd Zani said the body has been sent to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
