MELAKA: A grass cutter who was working along the shoulder of the main road at Kampung Ladang, near the Krubong industrial area here on Thursday, made a grisly discovery.

Peering closer into the grass, the 37-year-old found that he had stumbled upon eight separate human body parts strewn along his grass cutting route.

Following the 4pm find, the man immediately lodged a police report at the Tanjung Minyak police station, Bernama reported.

The human remains are thought to be at least five days old, and authorities have yet to establish whether they come from more than one individual.

“We have to await forensic analyses at the Melaka Hospital for conclusive details,” Melaka Tengah police chief Assistant Commissioner Afzanizar Ahmad told reporters, while declining to provide further details.

He added that police have classified the case as murder; and urged anyone with a missing family member or with information on the case to contact the nearest police station.
