KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened 26 investigation papers (IPs) related to the circulation of fake news on Covid-19 coronavirus.

This includes three new cases in Kuching and Miri in Sarawak, and Temerloh in Pahang.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department (intelligence and operations) deputy director Datuk Mohd Roze Shaari told Bernama that three out of the 26 cases - in Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu and Sabah - will be brought to court soon.
