KUALA LUMPUR: The body of the man who was swept away in Saturday’s Hulu Langat flood has been found at 2.54pm today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operation assistant director Mohd Sani Harul said the body of Taufik Alias, 23, was found floating by the public at a river near Tanjung Niah, about 1km from the Dusun Tua National Youth Advanced Skills Training Institute, where he was reported to have gone missing and feared drowned.

Sani said the body has been handed over to the police for further action.

It was reported that Taufik had failed to cross a flooded area inside the institute before he was swept away into Sungai Langat.

The Fire and Rescue Department then launched a search and rescue operation to locate Taufik.

A 44-second video showing Taufik being swept away by floodwaters has gone viral on social media since Saturday.
