KUALA LUMPUR: The next-of-kin of all 23 victims of the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah tahfiz school fire have submitted their DNA samples to be paired with the victims for body identification.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom told reporters outside the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary here tonight that the earliest results of the identification process would be expected tomorrow at 3.30pm.

"Accommodation has been prepared for all victims' families so I have urged them to go back and rest until tomorrow.

"Any additional information would be relayed to all," he said.

The bodies, he said, would be released to families once DNA tests have been completed.

He also offered his prayers for those injured in the fire, and hoped for their speedy recovery.

When asked on reports that the victims would all be buried in one grave, he said there were families who requested to take bodies of their loved ones back home.
