JOHOR BARU: Two lorries were involved in an accident near KM15.5 of the North-South Expressway (southbound) this morning.

Three people were injured in the 10.30am incident.

The injured victims were a trailer driver and his assistant. The other victim was a driver of a five-tonne lorry, which was ferrying home appliances.

Kulai Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Soleh Nasir said the injured victims were sent to the Kulai Hospital.

"The three people, aged 44, 24 and 20, had minor injuries and were taken to hospital for immediate medical attention," he said.

The accident occurred when both lorries, coming from the same direction, collided into one another and came to a complete stop at the middle of the road.

The incident caused a two-and-a-half hour-long traffic congestion along the stretch.
