IPOH: Five vehicles, three of them belonging to the Road Transport Department (RTD), caught fire in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, early today.

The three damaged RTD vehicles consisted of two Toyota Fortuner and one Ford Ranger. The other two vehicles, both Volvo models, belonged to members of the public.

A state Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a call about the incident at 2.36am and dispatched a team of firemen to the scene.

“Upon arrival, the team found five vehicles, which were parked at RTD’s office in Kuala Kangsar, on fire.

“We managed to snuff the blaze after an hour at 3.46am,” he said, adding that the vehicles belonging to RTD suffered 90 per cent burns. (Pics courtesy of Fire and Rescue Dept)

“We managed to snuff the blaze after an hour at 3.46am,” he said, adding that the vehicles belonging to RTD suffered 90 per cent burns.

“The two Volvos, meanwhile, suffered 70 per cent burns. An investigation is being carried out to determine the cause of the fire.”
