KUALA LUMPUR: In what seems to be a dream come true for doughnut lovers, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has announced a new addition to its regular line-up – the Original Glazed with Nutella.
However, doughnuts fans in Malaysia will not be able to bite into this delicious treat, unless they are willing to travel across the globe.
The Original Glazed with Nutella will only be available in the Dominican Republic for now.
As the distance between Dominican Republic and Malaysia is roughly some 17,327km, it looks like Malaysians will have to wait for its global launch.
When contacted, a Krispy Kreme Malaysia spokesperson said there is no plan yet to introduce the new flavour in Malaysia.
No reasons were given as to why Krispy Kreme Malaysia has not decided to fill its doughnuts here with Nutella, touted the best hazelnut spread in the world.
A photo of the new doughnut was shared on the official Krispy Kreme Dominican Republic Facebook page on Monday.
Images of the doughnuts oozing with Nutella have been widely shared on social media with netizens expressing disappointment as their joy turned into anguish.
Netizens question why Krispy Kreme would create Nutella doughnuts and not have them available anywhere else.
Twitter user Darren Rovell wrote: "Krispy Kreme offers Nutella stuffed Original Glaze...in Dominican Republic stores. Looks at flights…”
Another added: "There's a new #KrispyKreme donut filled with #Nutella and I feel like I could die happy now."
Nazih Nabeela tagged her friend on twitter stating: "Guess we gotta go to Dominican Republic now.
The products of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts can be found in 525 locations in 17 countries.
