AMPANG: A resident of an apartment in Taman Seri Intan was left with a hefty repair bill after his car was damaged by a 10kg television set, thrown from one of the upper floor units yesterday.

The Perodua MyVi owner made the shocking discovery at noon and alerted the management.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Hamzah Alias said the apartment's management has lodged a police report on the incident at 12.50pm.

“At the time, one of the staff was at the garden when he heard an object hitting a car.

He said police have taken the car owner’s statement and identified the TV set owner as a tenant of one of the units on the 13th floor.

Hamzah said based on the person's statement, he claimed to have placed the television in front of his unit after it fell on his leg recently.

“The TV had been sitting in front of the unit for the past three weeks. He claimed to have no knowledge of who could have thrown the TV downstairs."

Police urged witnesses to come forward and assist in the investigation.
