KUALA LUMPUR: The Foreign Workers Medical Examination Monitoring Agency (Fomema) has launched a one-stop online portal for the registration of foreign workers’ medical examinations and insurance programmes.

Fomema president and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Hatar Ismail said since it was first introduced in Nov 2016, Fomema has introduced value-added services to facilitate the registration process by employers for foreign worker’s medical examinations.

“Our (new) portal facilitates employers’ (registration) for their foreign workers’ medical checks, without having to visit Fomema’s branches or agencies. This saves a lot of their time.

“Fomema also provides an online insurance platform to make it easier for employers to subscribe to any of our selected insurance providers for their foreign workers.

“We believe that the application of these integrated online services will provide more convenience to employers, as well as the workers themselves,” he told a press conference at the launch of the portal today.

Also present at the event was Fomema director Tengku Abu Bakar Ahmad Tengku Abdullah, as well as representatives from partner insurance agencies.
