GUA MUSANG: The number of members of the Batek Orang Asli tribe receiving treatment rose to 112 as of midnight yesterday.
Kelantan Health Department director Dr Zaini Hussin said there were 9 new cases from 103 on Thursday.
Of the total, 48 patients were hospitalised, four at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), three in Kuala Krai Hospital (HKK) and one in Raja Perempuan Zainab Hospital (HRPZ II).
"A total of 19 patients were placed at the Orang Asli Homestay (RIKA) Gua Musang Hospital, and 41 received outpatient treatment," he said in a media statement here today.
The media previously reported that 14 members of the Batek Orang Asli tribe in Kuala Koh, Gua Musang, died, believed due to pneumonia.
However, only two deaths were reported to the authorities, while the remaining bodies were buried without informing the authorities.
