IPOH: State executive councillor Paul Yong Choo Kiong, who is accused of raping his Indonesian maid, is ready to take leave from his post in the event of prolonged police investigations into the case.

“I have read his statement in which he advises me to take leave should the investigation take too long.
“But I don't know how long will it take, but if it does take too long, he would probably ask me to do so (to take leave)," he told a press conference at his office in Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.
Yong arrived at his office about 9.15am and was accompanied by his lawyer who is also Malim Nawar assemblyman, Leong Cheok Keng and Buntong assemblyman, A. Sivasubramaniam.

“I have done nothing and why would I refuse to do my work. What is actually happening to me? I am still (an) exco.
“Anyone can throw allegations, am I right? But the allegations must be correct and in this case, I vehemently deny that I did anything wrong Let the police investigate. Time will prove everything.”
On July 9, the 49-year old politician was arrested to facilitate investigations following a police report lodged by a domestic worker on Monday.
In the police report, Yong was said to have raped the Indonesian woman at his house in Meru, Perak.
