Seri Alam district police chief Supt Ismail Dollah said initial investigation found that a Honda Wave was moving towards the victim, as the rider, 27, was going against traffic flow.

SERI ALAM: A factory worker died after his motorcycle collided with another that was travelling against traffic flow along Jalan Lebuh Cemerlang, Taman Desa Cemerlang, here, last night.

In the incident which took place at about 10pm last night, the victim, Hew Teck Fey, 36, died at the scene following severe head injuries.

The motorist who had been riding against the flow sustained severe head injuries, a broken arm and foot.

Seri Alam district police chief Supt Ismail Dollah said initial investigation found that a Honda Wave was moving towards the victim, as the rider, 27, was going against traffic flow.

He said the frontal collision led to Hew's death.

"The victim who was riding a Modenas sustained severe head injuries and died at the scene," he said, adding that the Honda Wave rider was taken to the Sultan Ismail Hospital and received treatment at the red zone.

"The location where the accident took place was well-lit by street lights, the road surface was dry and the weather was good," he said.

There was also a concrete divider dividing the two lanes of the road.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
