PUTRAJAYA: Eligible recipients of the Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) cash handout for the lower income group (B40) will have the financial aid payment deposited into their accounts from Wednesday.
In a statement today the Finance Ministry said for the third phase of disbursement, the government had allocated RM1.23 billion for 3.6 million BSH qualified recipients.
For the previous two phases this year, a total of RM2.85 billion was disbursed. This also includes the 3.23 million allocated for the children of the recipients.
The government introduced an additional BSH of RM120 for each child aged 18 years and below to be limited to four people, except those with disabilities or were handicapped, which is not limited by their age.
The first payout was in January while the second was disbursed in May.
Households with monthly income of RM2,000 and below will receive a grant of RM1,000, households with monthly income from RM2,001 to RM3,000 and below will receive a total of RM750 while households with monthly income from RM3,001 to RM4,000 will receive a total of RM500.
