IPOH: Central Perak continues to grapple with severe flooding, with the number of people evacuated to temporary shelters rising to 270 as of this morning.

A downpour which began at 7pm on Monday triggered further flooding in the area, and authorities were forced to open a third flood relief centre (PPS), Bernama reported.

The PPS now in operation are the Parit 13 community hall PPS in Titi Gantong, where five people are taking shelter; Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Changkat Jong, Teluk Intan in Hilir Perak, which is housing 235 flood victims; and SK Changkat Lobak in Kerian, where 30 people are taking shelter.
