IPOH: The 2019 Perak International Trade Exposition (PIEX) is the largest integrated trade exposition to be organised by the state government for the business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) market to promote Perak as a top choice for trade and investment partners.

It represents a unique platform to enhance trade, business, investment and economic opportunities at a global scale.

Featuring 400 booths, the event will be held from Nov 14 to 17 at Indera Mulia Stadium here and expects to draw more than 20,000 visitors.

Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah is expected to open this momentous event.

PIEX will gather state manufacturers and small-and medium-sized enterprises with participants from other countries to collaborate and facilitate foreign investments and develop connections to expand into new markets.

The four-day event will focus on manufacturing, tourism, construction, education, electrical and electronics, natural resources, property investment, transport and automotive industries.

State Investment, Industry and Corridor Development Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin has been appointed as the organising chairman.

Apart from a trade exhibition by key industries, PIEX has specifically brought together all government agencies and departments to provide latest information on investment opportunities and policies, and to facilitate direct engagement with investors.

PIEX is co-organised by Invest Perak and the Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce, supported by Perak Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Perak Indian Chamber of Commerce, Malaysia Chamber of Commerce, National Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, Malaysia International Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Federation of Malaysia Manufacturers (Perak).

This event will focus on business matching, seminars, product showcase and networking sessions, with valuable insight on current trends, strategies, innovations and digitalisation technology, to encourage and develop strategic partnership between businesses and potential investors.

There are five component events running parallel to PIEX, which are the Pangkor Dialogue, International Trade and Investment Expo, Perak Start-up Festival, Perak International Halal Expo, and Perak-Indian Trade and Investment Convention.

A key highlight of PIEX will be the Pangkor Dialogue, an international conference that will feature some of the most knowledgeable and influential speakers, who will share their insights and expertise on enhancing industry knowledge.

PIEX will also feature international industry players, among which is Vale, Perak’s largest foreign investor, which will be participating as the platinum sponsor.

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said PIEX aimed to fulfil the vision and mission outlined in the state’s Industrial Revolution 4.0 Plan and the newly-launched Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV 2030).

He gave his assurance that the state government would achieve key economic growth activities and SPV 2030, with full support from government agencies, private sector and the chambers of commerce and industry.
