SEPANG: A nosebleed episode did not stop Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad from attending the 2019 Southeast Asia Ulama (scholars) Multaqa (conference) today.
He walked into the venue hall at 5pm sharp, smiling and shaking hands with those present.
Dr Mahathir's morning press conference after the MPOB International Palm Oil Congress and Exhibition 2019 in Kuala Lumpur came to a halt when the prime minister's nose started to bleed.
It was reported red stains were noticeable on a white handkerchief that he used to wipe his nose.
Subsequently, Dr Mahathir was ushered away by his escorts.
A spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office later told the media that Dr Mahathir was in good health and on duty as usual at his office in Putrajaya.
The spokesman had also clarified reports which stated Dr Mahathir was rushed for medical treatment as untrue.
“Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad suffered a minor nosebleed. However, he is in good health.
"He is on duty as usual. News stating he was rushed for treatment are untrue,” said the spokesman.
