KOTA BARU: The number of flood victims in Kelantan rose to 13,080 people from 4,670 families this evening, compared to 12,468 evacuees this afternoon.
The victims are taking shelter at 65 temporary relief centres (PPS) in seven districts.
According to the InfoBencanaJKM app, Pasir Mas has the highest number of evacuees at 8,641 people, followed by Tumpat (1,856), Pasir Puteh (826), Kuala Krai (653), Kota Baru (616), Tanah Merah (348) and Machang (140)
Meanwhile, the water levels of most major rivers in the state are showing a downward trend due to good weather since this morning.
In Terengganu, the number of flood victims dropped to 3,004 people from 845 families, compared to 3,962 people this afternoon.
State Civil Defence Force (APM) director Lieutenant Colonel Che Adam A Rahman said the decrease is attributed to fair weather today.
The evacuees are being housed at 66 PPS in seven districts.
Besut has the highest number of victims at 1,094, followed by Hulu Terengganu (294), Setiu (974), Kuala Nerus (333), Dungun (262), Marang (34) and Kuala Terengganu (13). – Bernama
