KUANTAN: DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang is the mastermind who is responsible to divide the Malays in a move to achieve his dreams, said Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin.

The Temerloh Umno division chief reminded the Malays not to take the threat posed by Kit Siang lightly as he is ready to do anything to secure political advantage and secure Malay votes.

"Kit Siang is using the Malays to condemn their own people and we have seen the results. DAP was responsible to cause chaos and divide Pas, forcing the existence of splinter group Amanah and then later the existence of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (PPBM).

"In the past DAP utilised Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the frontline and now the party has switched to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as they realised such big name is important to attract Malay voters. Such strategy to use the Malays to destroy their own people is dangerous," he said.

Sharkar said this is nothing new as a former controversial DAP leader Hew (Kuan Yau) had also previously claimed that Kit Siang was only using Dr Mahathir to oust Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

"Despite Kit Siang denying, the Malays must never underestimate Kit Siang's plan to become the Prime Minister. If you look at any democratic country, whoever becomes the Prime Minister must have the largest number of seats in Parliament. DAP looks certain to win the largest number of seats.

"Dr Mahathir is not a member of parliament and it would be interesting to know which parliament constituency he would be contesting in the next general election. Dr Mahathir has to answer if he is the ‘topman’ in Pakatan Harapan.

“If he fails to answer, then Kit Siang is certainly the de-facto leader for Pakatan Harapan and the Prime Minister candidate for the opposition coalition," he said.
