KUALA LUMPUR: More than 50 Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Youth members urged the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to immediately respond to their memorandum which was sent last week on issues involving the party.
PPBM Youth Exco, Muhd Syazwan Ahmad, said they submitted the memorandum on February 22 urging RoS to clarify on their complaints regarding the existence of the party’s Youth wing and the PPBM’s annual general meeting.
“We found that some of the previously reported complaints regarding youth wing issues and the unconstitutional annual general meetings did not see the proper feedback from RoS.
"As members of PPBM, we demand a concrete and written explanation from RoS, because as part of the grassroots, we have the right to know on what is exactly going on in the party.
“We give RoS a week to carry out their duties and give an explanation, if they fail, more than 3,000 PPBM Youth members from all over the country will have a peaceful gathering in front of the Prime Minister’s Office (in Putrajaya) to seek an explanation,” he said in a press conference, here, today.
Meanwhile, on the party’s internal upheavals, Syazwan said deep in their hearts, he and several other former Youth Excos still loved PPBM but some issues which were yet to resolved had caused many of them to be discouraged.
“PPBM should not blame outsiders of interfering in its internal affairs, instead they should put their own house in order.
“This is because at the grassroots level we are sick and tired with the drama from the party’s leadership and want a clarification instead of (party leadership) coming out various reasons to cover up (PPBM’s) shortcomings,” he said.
Syazwan also urged PPBM Deputy President, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir to immediately take up the debate challenge by former PPBM secretary Kamarulzaman Habibur Rahman on the party's struggle and direction.
"The (debate) challenge was proposed some time ago but until today, Datuk Seri Mukhriz is still keeping mum,” he said adding that the PPBM deputy president should come forward and explain it all to the party grassroots.
