KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) should take legal action against Sarawak Report for its alleged slanderous remarks against the federal statutory body.
Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Datuk Razlan Muhammad Rafii such accusations by the pro-opposition portal had tarnished EPF’s reputation and image.
On Feb 28, EPF in a statement refuted a Sarawak Report’s claim over its purported dealings with Limage Holdings SA, Limage Southwest Holdings, the individual known as Mr Matrai nor any parties as stated.
It said as such there was no transfer of any funds or bonds of any kind to any of the aforementioned companies, parties or individual could have occurred as alleged.
“If EPF takes legal action against Sarawak Report, they (Sarawak Report) would have to prove their accusations in court.
“That will help to expose the accusations against EPF as false,” Razlan said in a statement today.
He added that a media statement was neither enough nor effective to address slander.
